1. Describe your Business and founders?
With challenges ranging right from the decades behind road infrastructure and uncompromised maintenance & refinish needs, I in pursuit of solutions gave a thought to fill such pain areas of customers, while working as regional head of one of the largest car care product companies in the world. As a passionate researcher, MSC Chemistry & MBA graduate I established Elixir Soltek Pvt. Ltd. (ESPL) with the ideas and plans of my closest friend Abhay Pote (an architect and a successful businessman), and with the supporting hands of my wife Neeta Badgujar.
This organization started stretching its arms with a purpose of innovation & diversified technology that can address even the smallest pain points of OEMs, car care community, mechanic fleet through novel inventions and a bunch of products & services under the brand name ‘MAGSOL’ that set new quality benchmarks for car care solutions.
Started from Pune, ESPL spread like a wildfire across the A-Class market to achieve tremendous shelf spaces across India through the country’s best distributors. In the years that followed, the market witnessed MAGSOL solving long existed challenges with perfectly crafted business strategies and dominating the aerosol segment in India.
2. What is the biggest challenge of being a CEO and how do you overcome it?
We all carry a star dream that we wish to accomplish one day in our life. But dreams do come true if you have the courage and passion to pursue them. This is what describes our young and dynamic personality Yogesh Badgujar, who started this venture after devoting 14 dedicated years with 3M brand.
In the journey of Magsol, the biggest challenge was to build the foundation strong enough to stand by every difficulty in the future. To do so, we have conducted several programs, trained and educated our management, sales, distributors, and customers. The transformation from unorganized to organized organization, various twists and turns led us to rise by them. In few years, we bagged an award of excellence and got recognition as the fastest-growing company. Today, we as a team working together effectively, delivering reliable service across PAN India and moving ahead with the innovation of new formulations in fulfilling the future auto-care needs.
3. Where do you see the company in the next five years and how will you bring about the change?
In the next 5 years, we see ourselves as a company that is into manufacturing, developing, and distributing auto-care products, covering every pin code of India with a wide distributor network and company-owned showrooms.
Our team comprises of people from different backgrounds who are assets to us and they have wide experience in their respective domains. It’s a persistent effort of them as a team, we are accomplishing this task.
Our vision and aim is to spread all over India first, and then covering the international territories.
4. Did you ever feel like giving up on being a CEO and what motivated you to pull this off?
I love challenges and failures: in fact, both make us learn, rethink and re-energise. Mistakes and failures are synonymous, so it can’t be a reason to give up.
I do remember the scenarios where demand was more and our supplies were less, the reason was owing to space constraints and manpower in the factory.
To meet this challenge, we initially started working for 2 shifts day and night. Parallelly we have started looking for bigger space and to my pride, now we have bigger premises (3.5 acres) and 2x team force which can meet all sorts of demand and supply crisis. Also, my company has our machines that are automated and equipped with high quality technology.
5. Describe your biggest achievement.
To put in one sentence, we have captured all zones EWNS with distributor presence and more than 20000 retailers buying our products month on, fulfilling the customer needs and always keeping us ahead to be future-fit and ready for any real-time challenge.
6. What was your aim to start the company?
To cater for customers’ needs in the auto-care market, spread our wings in all parts of India and move auto-care market from unorganized to well defined organized sector.
7. Tell us some of your failures.
Failures have always given me new learnings and scope to improve myself, my team, and my company. I takes failure as a step to reach the ladder of success where I have invested my time and earnest effort.
8. What is the role of your family in your successful career?
I have devoted 13 years to a job in a reputed well known auto aftermarket care brand. This transition from job to own start-up and establishing a business right from scratch was a major challenge and through this journey my family supported me in every thick and thin.
My father has been a big support and always encouraging me even my wife Neeta Badgujar, also my partner Mr Abhay Pote has always motivated me to start this venture wholeheartedly.
9. What is your message to the young generations and to their parents?
Never kill will and wish, if you have zeal to do, do it seriously, don’t think what others would say, define a path for yourselves and you will eventually overcome all hurdles automatically.
