EmotionShala
Our new vertical, EmotionShala, is an initiative of our organisation that focuses on facilitating emotional intelligence and social emotional learning skills in young children. EmotionShala includes research-based modules and lessons that aim to help children develop holistically. Through EmotionShala, young children and even adults can acquire and apply knowledge and skills to develop healthy identities, manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals and make responsible choices. We can help create learning spaces where all young people feel connected, engaged, and ready for the future.
EmotionShala can help your child
- Perform better in academics by inculcating critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
- In dealing with problematic behaviours like temper tantrums, fights, and conflicts in school and home.
- In making better friends and bonding better with their teachers by developing life skills coping with stress and anxiety.
Concoct of EmotionShala
The idea of EmotionShala was hatched after reading years of research on the social-emotional learning of young people, done all around the world. The team discussed the many aspects of emotional intelligence, conducted discussions, held sessions and conferences with EI coaches and educators across the globe and came up with this idea, which is relatively new in our country. Also, special emphasis is given on social-emotional learning in the National Education Policy 2020, and therefore, we thought to work on the same. If this kind of learning is provided at a very young age, children will be able to excel in their lives and strike a balance in their growing years. These children will then grow up to become well-adjusted, well-rounded adults.
Front on to challenges
The biggest challenge that we have faced till now is to spread awareness about the importance of social-emotional learning in human development. Though we have held conferences and symposiums with good numbers in the audience, a major portion still remains to be covered. The importance of developing life skills such as effective communication, problem solving, and decision-making is yet to be understood by a large population. However, we are persistent in making people aware of the essential skills needed in the new age.
