This is Prabin Kumar, founder and managing director of MG Logistics Pvt Ltd.

After my graduation, I worked for 8 years with a Delhi-based logistics company and founded MG Logistics in the year 2009 in Chennai. I am a postgraduate in business management and a licensed Indian customs broker.

My basic instinct is to be a solution provider, and I am passionate about logistics and find happiness in helping customers overcome their challenges related to logistics.

We started MGL in the year 2009 as a proprietorship concern and, by April 2010, converted it into a limited company. MG Logistics Pvt Ltd offers end-to-end logistics services for exports and imports by all modes of transport. We have our service network with 190 countries in the world. We have 14 accreditations like IATA, AEO, MTO, FIATA, WCA, GLA, etc.

 

How are the Value-Added Services helping your clients?

Apart from our logistics services, we offer all under one roof services to our customers like arranging marine insurance, packing, fumigation, storage, and distribution; services related to licenses and other government agencies; and other consultation services related to international business.

Our goal is to provide single window solutions to our customers and assist them to overcome all the challenges they are facing in their export-import (EXIM) business.

How are you helping the SME sector?

We understand that the SME sector is the backbone of our economy, which provides the maximum employment opportunities in our country. It is important for any company to assist the SME sector in all possible ways.

We, as a logistics partner, assist MSME companies to expand their market globally. The interesting fact is that for corporate companies, there will be a separate department for handling logistics with experienced managers, but most of the SME concerns will not be in a position to keep a separate team for logistics, so either it will be handled by the promotors or the export/import team. Here, the role of a logistics company is very crucial. We need to work as a part of the SME sector and assist them to compete in the international market by offering cost-effective logistics services.

We help our SME customers not just with arranging transportation of their goods; we also assist them in verifying the credibility of their buyer or seller in other countries; assisting them in getting credit guarantee insurance for exports; assisting them in calculating the cost comparisons; and helping in decision making. We also extend credit facilities to our logistics services, which will help to keep their working capital requirements under control.

 

What are the challenges you are eliminating with the services you provide?

A perfect logistics partner can help exporters, importers, or manufacturing companies overcome so many of the challenges they face in their business.

Logistics cost is one of the main factors which decides the price of the product, to compete in the international market controlling the cost without affecting the quality of service is very important. We, as an experienced company, will use all our sincere efforts and analysis to find the most cost-effective solutions for our customers.

 

Could you tell us about the management behind this?

The founder and managing director and senior management of the company have more than 20 years of professional experience in logistics.

Most of our team members have more than 10 years of experience in the logistics industry, and the majority of them have traveled with MGL for more than a decade, which helps to manage the operations, customer service, and other activities very smoothly.

Technology plays a vital role in every field, and logistics is not an exception. Our entire operations are controlled by the system, and it gives updates to customers in a timely manner.

 

What are your priorities when it comes to clients?
