education level in some Indian states. This was a stepping stone to my higher
education.
B.Sc. in Chemistry from
Mahatma Gandhi University in 1999: I have completed my Bachelor of Science degree in
Chemistry, which shows my academic foundation in the sciences.
MCA (Master of Computer
Applications) from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2002: I have transitioned to the field of computer
applications with a Master's degree, gaining in-depth knowledge in computer
science and its applications.
M.Tech (Computer Science and
Engineering) from Chhattisgarh University in 2004: Going further, I have completed my education
with a Master of Technology degree, specializing in Computer Science and
Engineering.
M.Phil. (Computer Science)
from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2007: This is a research-oriented degree that likely involved a
deeper exploration of a specific area within computer science.
UGC - NET (National
Eligibility Test) in the year 2012: The UGC-NET is a competitive exam in India for
eligibility for college and university-level lectureships and for the award of
a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Passing this exam demonstrates my expertise
and eligibility for teaching and research roles.
Ph.D. (Computer Science and
Engineering) from OPJS University, Churu, Rajasthan, during 2016–2019: My Ph.D. was completed in 2021, which
signifies the pinnacle of my educational journey. This represents significant
research and a contribution to the field of Computer Science and Engineering
especially in computer vision and deep learning.
Thus, my educational background
reflects a strong progression through various academic levels, culminating in a
Ph.D. It's clear that I've invested a significant amount of time and effort

Teaching active learning
through practical applications and critical thinking
Emphasis on dynamic and experiential teaching methods that prioritize
critical thinking, practical application, and student engagement. My approach
aligns well with modern educational practices that aim to foster holistic
learning and independent thinking. Here's a breakdown of the elements
highlighted:
Teaching from Experiences and
the Mind: Sharing personal
experiences and insights can make lessons more relatable and engaging. This
approach can help students see the practical side of the concepts they're
learning.
Avoiding Sole Reliance on
Books: While textbooks
offer foundational knowledge, my approach focuses on providing a broader
perspective that goes beyond traditional academic resources.
Preparation for Diverse
Questions: Being
well-prepared to answer a variety of questions shows my dedication to
facilitating meaningful discussions and ensuring that students' inquiries are
addressed.
Use of Information and
Communication Technology (ICT): Integrating technology in teaching can enhance the learning experience,
making it more interactive and relevant to modern trends.
Encouraging Independent
Learning: Guiding students
to find answers on their own promotes critical thinking and self-reliance,
important skills for lifelong learning.
Online Discussions: Engaging students in online discussions about case
studies promotes collaborative learning and provides a platform for exchanging
ideas and viewpoints.
Assignments and Seminars: Assignments and seminars allow students to delve
deeper into subjects, present their findings, and develop presentation and
research skills.
Research-Oriented Studies: Incorporating research-oriented studies encourages
students to explore topics in depth, fostering a culture of curiosity and
discovery.
My teaching approach is student-centered and focused on active learning.
It aims to prepare students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with
practical skills and the ability to think critically and independently.
Remember that each student has their own learning style, so adapting my methods
to accommodate different preferences can lead to a more inclusive and effective
learning environment.
A letter to students: Dr.Susheel George Joseph
Dear Students,
As you navigate your educational
journey and prepare for the future, I want to offer you some valuable advice to
help you make the most of your experiences and achieve your goals:
Embrace lifelong learning: education doesn't end with graduation.
Cultivate a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. Stay curious,
explore new subjects, and continue to grow intellectually.
Set clear goals: Define both short-term and long-term goals
for your education and personal development. Having clear objectives will guide
your efforts and keep you motivated.
Manage your time: Time is a precious resource. Develop
effective time management skills to balance your studies, extracurricular
activities, and personal life. Prioritize tasks and create a schedule that
works for you.
Seek understanding, not just
grades: Strive for a
deep understanding of the subjects you're studying rather than just chasing
grades. Knowledge gained through comprehension lasts longer and will serve you
well in the future.
Embrace challenges: Challenges are opportunities in disguise.
Don't shy away from difficult subjects or situations; they're chances to learn
and grow. Embrace a growth mindset that sees setbacks as stepping stones.
Build meaningful
relationships: Connect
with your peers, teachers, mentors, and professionals in your field. Networking
can open doors, provide guidance, and offer different perspectives.
Practice self-care: Take care of your physical, mental, and
emotional well-being. Prioritize sleep, exercise, healthy eating, and
activities that bring you joy. A healthy mind and body contribute to better
learning.
Be resilient: Life is full of ups and downs. Develop
resilience to bounce back from failures and setbacks. Remember that setbacks
are temporary and can lead to greater success.
Embrace diversity: Open yourself to different cultures,
viewpoints, and backgrounds. Embracing diversity enriches your understanding of
the world and prepares you for a global society.
Give back: Contribute to your community and society.
Volunteering and helping others not only make a positive impact but also teach
valuable life lessons.
Use technology wisely: Technology is a powerful tool. Use it to
enhance your learning, stay organized, and connect with others. However, also
recognize the importance of unplugging and engaging in face-to-face
interactions.
Follow your passions: Pursue subjects and activities that
genuinely interest you. When you're passionate about what you're learning, it's
easier to stay motivated and excel.
Practice gratitude: Take a moment each day to reflect on what
you're grateful for. This practice can foster a positive mindset and help you
appreciate the journey you're on.
Remember that your education is not
just about acquiring knowledge—it's about personal growth, character
development, and preparing for a meaningful and fulfilling life. Embrace these
principles, adapt them to your unique circumstances, and forge a path that
reflects your aspirations and values.
I wish you all the best on your
journey of discovery and growth!
Sincerely,

Determination for education
is above all challenges
One of the most cherished memories
from my extensive twenty-year career is rooted in a moment that exemplifies my
unyielding commitment to education and discipline. During my early days, a
situation emerged that would test not only my resolve but also underscore the
values I hold dear.
It was a day when political unrest
swept through our state, leading to a declared harthal. Amid this tumultuous
backdrop, a crucial nationwide examination was scheduled, and it was my
responsibility to oversee its conduct. The circumstances were challenging, but
my determination burned even brighter.
In the face of this unexpected
convergence of events, I made a resolute decision. The night before the
examination, I chose to stay at a hotel close to the venue, determined to
ensure that the examination would proceed as planned. My resolve was unshakeable,
and I understood that upholding the commitment to education demanded
flexibility and dedication beyond the ordinary.
With unwavering discipline, I
navigated through the harthal-stricken day, ensuring that the examination went
off seamlessly despite the odds. Students' futures were at stake, and I
recognized that my role extended beyond mere instruction; it encompassed mentorship,
guidance, and creating an environment that valued order and commitment.
This memory stands as a testament to
my dedication over the years. It encapsulates the essence of my approach:
strict, yes, but ultimately driven by a deep-seated belief in the power of
education and the significance of fostering a disciplined environment. The
memory of that day's commitment and sacrifice serves as a reminder of the
enduring impact that educators can have and the lengths to which we are willing
to go to ensure that learning remains unwavering, even in the face of
challenges.
