Dr. Shilpa Jejurkar, Principal, MIT Vishwashanti

Dr. Shilpa Jejurkar has 25 years of rich experience in
the field of education. With English and social science as her core subjects,
her career spans over a considerable period in various capacities, with many
milestones to her credit.
Dr. Shilpa Jejurkar has imbibed love for the nation,
respect for fellow beings, and empowering people around her very early in life
due to her family working in government service.
Growing up with all these virtues, it’s not a surprise
that she chose teaching as her profession to reach out to society and
contribute towards education, which is meaningful. Her methodology includes
teaching students the core life skills that will not only enhance their
personalities but also help them overcome the various challenges they may face
in the future.
Educational journey
After completing her Ph.D. in Behaviour Counselling
and M.Phil. (Economics), she completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Educational
Leadership and Management from IITT UK. Later, she completed her Masters in
Education (M.Ed.) from Mumbai University and is also an M.A. in English
literature.
Dr. Shilpa's role as an inclusive educationist
A staunch propagator of inclusive education, she has
opened the doors to many children who are differently abled and is striving to
bring them into mainstream education.
She began her career with an enriching experience at
the DAV School, moving on to New Horizon Public School in Navi Mumbai.
Broadening her horizons not only in the national arena, she has diverse
experience working internationally as an educator and speaker.
Dr. Shilpa Jejurkar’s vision
As an educationist, she believes in empowering the
facilitators and creating a lineage that would benefit the future of our
country. A visionary by nature, she is in the process of mentoring and guiding
not only in the school that she heads but also in the places she goes as a
pedagogue.
Awards and recognitions
Dr. Shilpa Jejurkar was awarded the prestigious
Acharya Chanakya Shikshavid Samman 2020 by the organisation Fun-To-Learn in
association with Jammu Sahodaya for her remarkable achievement in the field of
teaching. Considering the pandemic situation, the award function was conducted
virtually—the biggest virtual felicitation ceremony—in which 502 educators from
India and abroad were felicitated. This event was co-hosted by “The World Book
of Records” (U.K.).
Apart from this award, Dr. Shilpa Jejurkar is a
recipient of an array of other awards too, which include:

2018.

Dr. Shilpa's contributions as a school head
She works towards inclusive education and in the area
of mental health for both teachers and students. She is also instrumental in
creating good sports achievers. She believes in the holistic development of the
students.
Responsibilities as a general secretary for the International
Human Rights Association
Her role as General Secretary (Education) for IHRA is
very unique. Teacher training, counselling the students and teachers, and
resolving their issues are the prime responsibilities.
Dr. Shilpa's certifications
She is a Microsoft-certified educator and a Google-certified teacher.
