Professional Journey
I am an experienced HSE professional in India, Qatar, and
the UAE. My career has been both fascinating and rewarding. I have worked in a
variety of industries over the course of my career, including energy and oil
and gas, to mention a few. In each of these sectors, my main duty has been to
protect the company's and the employees' health, safety, and environment. In
the early years of my career, I worked as an HSE Advisor in the energy sector,
where I had to balance regulatory compliance with gaining awareness of the HSE
difficulties faced by the sector. As I advanced in my career, I took on the
responsibility of creating and implementing HSE management systems for various
large-scale projects in oil and gas EPC projects.
Roles and responsibilities as an HSE manager
As a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager, it
is my responsibility to ensure that the organisations where I work comply with
all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards. My
role involves implementing and maintaining an effective HSE management system that
identifies and minimises potential hazards, risks, and environmental impacts.
Additionally, I communicate and promote HSE policies and procedures to all
employees and stakeholders, ensuring their training and competence in HSE
practices. In terms of health, my focus is on promoting and maintaining a safe
and healthy workplace through effective risk management, injury prevention, and
employee wellness programs. This involves identifying and assessing potential
health hazards, implementing appropriate controls, and providing training and
resources to employees to minimise the risk of workplace injuries.
Experts in workplace procedure and policy management
My areas of expertise revolve around the implementation
of health, safety, and environmental management policies and procedures in the
workplace. I am proficient in conducting risk assessments and identifying
potential hazards in the workplace. I have extensive knowledge of various
safety regulations and standards that ensure compliance with legal requirements
and industry best practices. I have a strong background in designing and
delivering HSE training programmes for employees, which increases their
awareness of the importance of HSE in the workplace. I conduct HSE audits and
inspections to ensure adherence to the organisation's safety and environmental
policies and procedures. As an HSE Manager, I have expertise in investigating
accidents and incidents, identifying the root causes, and devising appropriate
corrective and preventive measures so as to prevent recurrence.
Research publications on environmental sustainability
I have published research and review papers in
international journals of repute, which include journals indexed in the Web of
Science and are available on Google Research Scholar. I am currently working on
the publication of a book in the environmental sustainability genre, which is
set to be released next month. In addition, I am writing an environmental
toxicology review paper that I plan to publish soon in an international journal.
