I am Dr. Manjula Sanjay Koti, Professor and Head of Master of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management, Bangalore. I am passionate about the world of Technology and Education. With over 2 decades of experience in Teaching, I have dedicated my career to fostering a dynamic learning environment that equips students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the ever-evolving field of computer applications. My research findings have been published in reputed peer-reviewed International Journals which are indexed in WOS and Scopus.
Education and professional background
I have a Ph.D.degree from Bharathiar University and a Master of Computer Applications from Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology.
An accomplished MCA, Ph.D. professor, and dedicated academic professional with a proven track record of excellence in teaching, research, and leadership. As the Professor and Head of the Master of Computer Applications department at Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management, Bangalore, I carry a unique blend of academic expertise and administrative leadership.
I have led the department through innovative curriculum development, ensuring alignment with industry trends and emerging technologies. I have also established and maintained collaborations with industry partners, fostering internship opportunities and enhancing student engagement.

My major strength lies in fostering strategic collaborations with industry leaders, facilitating internships, and facilitating real-world projects for the students.
In the past organisation, I was heading the Academic, Research, and Internal Compliance Committee. I had also worked for Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan, a flagship program from IIT Delhi, where we adopted 5 villages in the vicinity of the Institution, and students were able to find out the problems that the rural people were facing and develop solutions for them using the emerging technologies. I initiated the NPTEL local chapter for the Institute and was also responsible for opening the student chapter of the professional society. I have been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from NPTEL. In the current organisation, I take the lead in the Skill Development Program where we are trying to help our students to get the skills required by the organisation. I take care of the Grievance Committee, where I try to resolve the problems of faculties and students.
I have received appreciation from Swayam-NPTEL during 2018, 2019, & 2020. I am the recipient of the Best Research Excellence award from the Institute for Exploring Advances in Engineering and an award for Excellence Teaching in Higher Education from the International Research Institute, Bengaluru. It’s my honour to receive the Women Empowerment Award from Shikshak Kalyan, Mumbai in 2021.
I am also responsible for getting the International Universities on campus and have also initiated MoU’s with Singapore, Malaysia and US universities.
What are your major publications, patents, and journals?
My major publications are from Q-ranking journals, which are indexed in WOS and Scopus. I have to my credit 8 patents (5 Indian Patents, and 1 Australian Patent) and 10 publications in book chapters. I have authored 30 peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals, I have presented 16 research papers at International Conferences and I have also received best paper awards.
What is your expertise?
My expertise lies in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Data warehousing, Pattern Recognition and Big Data Analytics.
National and International Conferences chaired by Dr. Manjula
I have chaired several National and International Conferences and also a reviewer for prestigious International Journals and Conferences. I have also been on the Technical Program Committee for various International Conferences in India and abroad. I had the opportunity to be the keynote speaker for International Conferences in India and abroad.
I had organised the Springer International Conference, workshops, and faculty development programs. To improve the technical skills of the students, many hands-on workshops, technical talks, and hackathons were organised.
Could you give us a brief overview of your additional roles and responsibilities?
As the Head of the PG program, I am involved in getting funded projects along with consulting. At the institute level, I take care of skill development programs, Student and Staff Grievance redressals, Corporate connect initiatives, apart from my administrative responsibilities. As a part of academic excellence, under my leadership, the department has achieved very good results with better student outcomes, and we have also incorporated industry-relevant skills and emerging technologies, ensuring our students are well prepared for the dynamic IT landscape.
