Could you introduce yourself to our audience?

 


I am Capt. Rahul Sharma, Founder and CEO of RH Factor Consulting Group, a distinguished HR professional with over three decades of corporate experience in addition to my Army Service. My career spans multiple sectors, including – Armoured Corps of the Indian Army, a Fighting corps, handling manpower from an early stage and age to Hospitality, Service, IT Software, BFSI, manufacturing, and entrepreneurial ventures, helping Startups and MSMEs, and established companies through Transformational HR interventions. I have driven strategic transformation and organizational resilience. With a military leadership background, I combine strategic rigor with operational excellence, fostering high-performance cultures and substantial growth. As a certified Coach and Psychometrician, and an Organisational Psychologist, I bring a unique blend of skills and expertise to my work. Having started my journey through the Indian Army and having served in different sectors and parts of India, I began my corporate journey from Delhi, served in many zones, and am now settled in Mumbai.

RH Factor Consulting Group is a premier HR consultancy dedicated to driving business growth and enhancing organizational agility through comprehensive HR solutions. RH Factor is dedicated to providing comprehensive Transformational HR solutions that drive business growth and enhance organizational agility. Our services include setting goals, values, missions, etc. for MSMEs and Start-Ups, offering strategic HR leadership, organizational transformation, talent management through Assessment and Development Centers, the use of multiple Psychometric Tools, executive coaching for CEOs, etc. We design and execute innovative HR Policies, processes, and strategies, manage human capital across diverse industries, and implement transformative employee engagement initiatives. Our goal is to align HR practices with business objectives, improve operational efficiency, and foster a culture of high performance. RH Factor also works in B and C cities in India through innovative and cost-saving means.




Could you tell us about your professional journey?

 


My professional journey began as a Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army’s elite Armoured Corps. After a distinguished military career, I transitioned into the corporate world with my entry into ITC Hotels in the HR field. After about 9 years at ITC Hotels at some of their prominent properties in New Delhi and North India, I moved to Mumbai in 2003 as Head of HR and Training at Sodexo. Subsequently, I got the opportunity to work for IT software companies – iflex Solutions and later Oracle Software Solutions, holding senior HR leadership positions. I worked in the BFSI sector as Group Head HR for IIFL and DHFL, handling multiple companies and manpower in excess of 20,000 (twenty thousand plus). My roles have included being CEO of Welassure (a subsidiary of Welspun), Director HR, CHRO, Group Head, and SVP of HR. Throughout my career, I have managed HR across various sectors, led digital HR transformations, and driven significant improvements in employee performance and business outcomes. I founded RH Factor Corporate Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in 2014 and RH Factor Consulting Group in 2021.

 

 


What inspired you to shift from your role as a Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army’s elite Armoured Corps to a successful career as an HR leader and Executive Coach?

 


The transition from military to corporate life was inspired by both personal and professional reasons, including my passion for strategic leadership and organizational development. The skills and discipline I acquired in the Army, such as strategic thinking, operational excellence, and crisis leadership, have been invaluable in the corporate world. I saw an opportunity to leverage my military leadership experience to drive transformational HR initiatives and help organizations navigate periods of transition and growth. The desire to make a broader impact on businesses and employees alike fueled my journey into HR leadership and executive coaching. I was lucky and fortunate to be sponsored for an on-campus course in HR, IR, and OD from the prestigious Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. That added theoretical knowledge to my practical experience leading troops in peace and war.

 

 


What are your roles and responsibilities as the CEO & CHRO of RH Factor Consulting Group?

 


As the CEO & Virtual CHRO of RH Factor Consulting Group, I am responsible for the overall strategic direction and operational management of the firm. My roles include understanding the pain points of a company and then designing and implementing innovative HR strategies, leading organizational transformation projects, and providing executive coaching to senior leaders. I oversee talent management, performance management, compensation design, and intercultural HR management. Additionally, I work with senior / top management teams as an Executive Coach, working with them to help them achieve their personal and professional goals. My focus is on aligning HR initiatives with business goals to enhance organizational efficiency and employee engagement.

 

 


Based on your experience, what are the most important qualities or skills for a successful entrepreneur in this industry?

 


A successful entrepreneur in the HR consulting industry must possess strategic vision, operational excellence, and the ability to drive organizational change. Key qualities include strong leadership, effective communication, empathy, and collaboration. Analytical skills and business acumen are crucial for making data-driven decisions. An entrepreneur should also be adaptable, resilient, and continuously learning to stay ahead of industry trends. Building a culture of trust, fostering innovation, and maintaining a customer-centric approach are essential for long-term success.

 

 


Could you share any achievements and accolades that you have received?

 


Throughout my career, I have been recognized for my contributions to HR and organizational development. Notable accolades include:

  • "Most Influential HR Leaders in India" by "The World HRD Congress" in 2017
  • "Iconic HR Leaders Award in 2023"

I have also been a member of the Advisory Board at a prominent B School in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, since 2007. These recognitions reflect my commitment to excellence in HR leadership and my impact on driving business growth and enhancing organizational resilience.
