I began my educational journey with a B.Sc., an M.Sc. from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya in Jabalpur, an M.Com. from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University, and a B.ED. from Jadavpur University. I then pursued a Ph.D. in engineering from Jadavpur University, complementing my technical expertise with an L.L.B. from Mumbai University. My professional journey has been diverse and enriching, starting as a lecturer and progressing through the ranks to assistant professor, associate professor, and professor, and finally to leadership positions in various universities. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to guiding numerous students towards achieving their goals and fostering a passion for learning.

As an assessor at NAAC, it keeps me updated on quality parameters and policies. Moreover, it also helps me to remain updated with the latest changes, reforms, or modifications made by UGC or SRA.

I am also a QUALITY CONTROLLER in NPTEL - Swayam Portal.

My areas of expertise include the accreditation Curriculum framing and it’s implementation as per NEP 2020, as well as quality assurance in OBE education. I am very comfortable with different types of audits, like academic, administrative, library, student, etc. I have a strong background in artificial intelligence, leveraging my engineering and legal education to innovate and enhance educational standards and practices as per national and international standards.

What inspired you to embark on a career as an academic in the field of Artificial Intelligence?

I embarked on this journey some 25 years ago, when it barely made an appearance. It was basically in bioinformatics and disease detection. Soon I realized the potential of artificial intelligence to revolutionize various sectors and improve quality of life, which inspired me to delve deeper into this field. My engineering background and passion for innovation drove me to explore AI, and I have been committed to advancing this technology within the academic sphere to prepare students for the future.

Could you share your primary duties as Head/Director at the University for Innovative Education Initiatives, and how do these responsibilities complement or differ from your advisory role at RNB Global University?

As the Head of IQAC in the University, my primary duties include ensuring the curriculum framing with OBE and implementing NEP 2020. This has been followed by trying to bring Quality Assurance in curriculum by mapping PO/CO/PSO and its attainment. Moreover, I personally think of continuous improvement of academic and administrative performance, developing quality benchmarks, and promoting innovative teaching and learning methods.

On the other hand, in my advisory roles at RNB Global University and others, I focus on providing strategic guidance and support to enhance their educational frameworks, the process by which NEP2020 can be implemented, and quality assurance practices. While both roles aim to elevate educational standards, my responsibilities at the university are more hands-on and operational, whereas my advisory role is more strategic and consultative.

Could you tell us about any distinguished awards or honors you have been recognized within your career?

Throughout my career, I have been honored with several awards for my contributions to academia and educational innovation. These recognitions are a testament to my commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and administration. While I value these accolades, my greatest reward is the success and growth of the students and institutions I have had the privilege to work with.

How do you maintain a work-life balance given the significant responsibilities of your dual roles?

Maintaining a work-life balance in such demanding roles does require careful time management, planning, prioritization, and a strong support system. I thank Almighty for supporting and guiding me in each stride, my husband, Mr. Bhaskar Talukdar—my Rock of Gibraltar; my sons, Rongeet and Suryansh—my 2 arms have always helped me to strike a balance between the various roles that I play in life. I make it a point to set clear boundaries, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure I allocate time for personal well-being and family. Engage myself in hobbies, stay active, and practice mindfulness. These practices also help me stay balanced and rejuvenated, allowing me to fulfil my professional responsibilities with renewed energy and focus.
