Dinesh Sharma, Founder & CEO,
Brilliant Minds Group
Hi, I am Dinesh Sharma, the founder and CEO of Brilliant
Minds Group. Professionally, I am a human resources leader with more than 25
years of global experience, both in India and North America.
Could you explain to us about your
venture, Brilliant Minds Group?
Brilliant Minds Group (BMG) provides both pre-arrival and
post-arrival support to new immigrants in all categories and international
students heading to Canada. With the ease of internet connectivity, BMG offers
online counseling and training sessions that are designed to deliver effective
assistance to all who are aspiring for a successful life in Canada.
The above flyer highlights the pre-arrival services that
are offered here in India.
In Canada, we provide professional development sessions
that include coaching, mentoring, job search strategies, and community
integration, to name a few.
What inspired you to start your own
business?
Every year, more than 3 lakh people from India move to
Canada for various reasons. Moving from one country to another is a big move,
and it takes patience, persistence, and a positive attitude. As an individual
who went through lots of challenges when I moved to Canada 22 years ago, I
wanted to ensure a seamless transition for those who are now moving to Canada.
What are your primary responsibilities
as the founder and CEO of Brilliant Minds Group?
My primary responsibility as the founder and CEO of
Brilliant Minds Group is to ensure that we build strong teams both in Canada as
well as in India. When we build strong teams, the teams look after the
operations of the organization.
My other responsibility as the founder and CEO is to
ensure that we build a culture of "Trust & Care." Credibility is
key for us at BMG.
There are many other responsibilities that I have in
addition to the two that I mentioned.
How do you balance your time between
running your business and engaging with the community?
Time management is the key. I allocate specific time for
business operations, engaging with the community, and spending time with the
family. We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend those 24 hours is the key.
Prioritizing what is important to us and, more importantly, delegating what can
be done by others are some of the other tools that I use for managing my time.
What advice would you give to aspiring
entrepreneurs who also want to be active in community work?
