Dr. (Prof) Dimple Goyal,
Founder & Director, Eduvoyage International Academy & Super School
My name is Dr. (Prof)
Dimple Goyal, an educator with over 25 years of experience in the field of
education. My teaching journey began at the tender age of 10, after I lost my
father and brother. Seeing this thin line between life and death led me to an existential
crisis, and I lost motivation to do anything. I realized there might be some
superpower playing this game and had my first conversation with God, leading to
something magical. I developed strong academic skills and began assisting
children with their studies. Watching the sparkle in their eyes and their
confidence when they grasped the concepts brought joy and meaning to my life.
At the age of twelve, parents started approaching me for regular tuition. I was
excited as I could learn more while teaching, contribute my knowledge, utilize
my time, and also earn in the process to fund my own education and support my
single mom.
I believe in the
uniqueness of every child, and my passion lies in helping students unlock their
full potential through a holistic and personalized approach to learning. I’m
the founder and director of Eduvoyage International Academy and Super School.
It is an innovative educational approach designed to nurture the unique
strengths and interests of every child by instilling a deep passion for their
subjects and motivating students to strive for excellence. Started with just a
handful of students on my dining table in 2004, I have now successfully served
over 5,000 IB and Cambridge students while producing Global Toppers from India
who have reached IVY League universities. It’s been 25+ years of experience,
formally in education and informally for more than three decades. The journey
has been highly satisfying, driven by a commitment to creating environments
where students can thrive both academically and personally.
Could you describe your
venture?
Eduvoyage International
Academy started in 2004 as a pioneer coaching institute for IB and Cambridge
students, where we support students from grades 6–12 in all their academic
subjects.
Eduvoyage Super School
started post-pandemic, but its roots were laid in 2012. I strongly believe that
‘one size can’t fit all', so I started the concept of homeschooling, which has
now transformed into Super School. It’s a beautiful community of students who
have flexibility and freedom and work on the holistic development of a child.
Our groundbreaking approach is redefining education by empowering students to
select subjects aligned with their interests, work at their own pace, and
passionately pursue their individual talents. This visionary concept aligns
students’ emotional, mental, and physical well-being with their spiritual
connection, helping them discover their true purpose (IKIGAI) and lead towards
happy and fulfilling lives. Through a combination of offline and online
classes, workshops, field trips, and expert guidance, we help students develop
the skills they need to succeed in today’s rapidly changing world. We even
supported many celebrity children, recognizing their need for individualized attention
on unconventional schedules.
My formula for nurturing a
happy and successful child
Right Academic Subjects +
Passion + Right Skills + Self-Aware and Conscious Being.
My mission is to develop a
new generation of students who are not only academically proficient but also
emotionally, mentally, and spiritually equipped to thrive in an evolving world.
What inspired you to start
Eduvoyage International Academy and what are your future plans for the
institution?
After spending so many
years in the field of education, I realized that ‘Real Education’ was actually
missing in this rat race of competition and comparison, and the reason why I
actually ventured into teaching was not giving me fulfillment in the traditional
education system. I wanted to move away from the conventional, rigid systems
that often stifle creativity and personal growth. I believe no grades or marks
can define unlimited human potential, and every child has beautiful gifts and a
genius inside. They need to be nurtured with love and support, accept who they
are, and receive the right guidance.
My inspiration came from
seeing so many students struggle in traditional schools, and I wanted to
support each one in their journey and help them succeed; hence, I started
Eduvoyage International Academy. It was born out of a deep desire to create a
more meaningful and impactful educational experience for students. My future
plans for Eduvoyage include expanding our offerings to reach more students
globally, developing new programs that cater to the evolving needs of the
21st-century learner, and continuing to build a community of learners who are
passionate, curious, and equipped to make a positive impact in the world.
Could you share some
background on your professional and educational journey and what motivated you
to transition from a corporate career to teaching?
My passion for teaching
began informally at the age of 10. I began my career with a strong foundation
in the corporate world, holding an MBA and working in various leadership roles.
However, my inner calling was always education; hence, I embarked on full-time
B.Ed. teacher training. This leap marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment
to nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning. With four
postgraduate degrees and numerous prestigious awards, including an honorary
doctorate and ambassadorship for education, I consistently pursued excellence
in education. My career spanned across various Indian educational boards,
including CBSE, ICSE, State Board, NIOS, and BMS, where I worked in different
positions. However, for the past 19 years, I have been exclusively associated
with the International Board of IB and Cambridge curricula.
Over these years, I found
immense fulfillment in helping students grow and succeed. My journey has been
one of constant learning and evolution, from traditional teaching roles to
embracing innovative educational methods. My experiences have shaped my belief
that education should be personalized, flexible, and holistic, and this
philosophy is at the core of what we do at Super School.
The transition from the
corporate world to teaching was driven by my desire to make a more meaningful
impact on the lives of young people. While I found success in the corporate
sector, it was in education that I discovered my true passion. My MBA experience
has been invaluable in shaping my approach to education, particularly in
understanding the importance of strategy, leadership, and innovation. It has
also helped me develop a business-minded approach to running an educational
institution, ensuring that we can sustain and grow our impact over time.
What specific services do
you offer under academic counseling, and how do you guide students in their
educational journey?
I strongly believe there
is a genius in each child; we need to accept and respect their unique journey.
Our academic counseling services are designed to provide personalized guidance
to students at every stage of their educational journey. This includes helping
them choose the right board and subjects, identifying their strengths and
interests, and creating customized learning plans that align with their goals.
We also conduct workshops on essential skills like financial literacy,
interpersonal skills, time management, critical thinking, and emotional
intelligence. Our goal is to empower students to take control of their
learning, make informed decisions, and achieve their full potential.
What advice would you give
to someone starting their career in education or entrepreneurship?
My advice to anyone
starting a career in education or entrepreneurship is to stay true to your
passion and purpose. Education is a field that requires love for children,
patience, empathy, and a deep commitment to making a difference. It’s important
to be adaptable, as the needs of students and the landscape of education are
constantly evolving. For entrepreneurs, I would say that innovation and
persistence are key. Don’t be afraid to take risks, challenge the status quo,
and continuously seek ways to improve and grow. Most importantly, remember that
the impact you have on the lives of others is the most rewarding part of the
journey.
