Nitin Srivastava

Nitin Srivastava, Senior Manager, HCLTech France

My name is Nitin Srivastava, working as a senior manager at HCLTech France. Currently I am leading large projects under cyber security in HCLTech. Prior to that I have extensive experience in handling operations for larger customers whilst working for critical projects.

I have had a chance to work in three countries: India, Dubai, and France. I have completed Bachelors in Computer Application from IMS, Ghaziabad, and Post graduation in General Management from IIM, Raipur.

Could you share about the CSR journey?

Besides discharging my duties efficiently as a techie in HCL, I have always abided by the social and societal responsibilities on various platforms. I always ensure to distribute 100 blankets to the underprivileged in the suburbs of Varanasi, my hometown, every year in my personal capacity to help the deprived.

Additionally, I have contributed to the procurement and distribution of basic medicines to the needy for blood pressure, diabetes, and COVID during lockdown in Varanasi and Dehradun. Also, I have distributed raw food items and cereals to peddlers and hawkers who were not able to earn a living during those tough times. I visit the cancer patients every year in Lyon to spend some quality time and distribute gifts and essentials to kids to bring a smile on their face on Christmas and New Year. I am CSR France Lead for HCL and take account of various CSR activities and initiatives in France.

I am actively involved with "Samarthanam Trust" for the disabled and contribute to managing their visits overseas and advancing their requirements in Paralympics during their performances. I am also an associate for the Indian blind cricket team in developing the team overseas.

How does HCLTech inspire you to help others?

My biggest motivation is the legacy of my organization, HCLtech, that always motivates me to lend a helping hand and drives me forward for empowering the deprived. Whilst I am elated to work for the underserved, I am equally excited to help them to make their life better.

My source of motivation is my employer, HCLTech. The values and beliefs of our organization and our management motivate us to help others.

What have been some of the most significant achievements in your career?

  • I have been selected as best performer and mentor on many occasions within the organization and won several accolades and recognition for my philanthropic acts. Few of my notable achievements are:
  • I have been awarded in essay writing on Hindi diwas for 3 consecutive years by INDIAN EMBASSY in France, Lyon.
  • I have been felicitated by INDIAN EMBASSY in France for my philanthropic work with my team during COVID-19 breakdown. I along with my team have helped around 25+ Indian students stranded in Lyon with food, accommodation and basis essentials.
  • I am being selected as a Supercharged Ambassador at HCLTech for my contribution throughout.
  • I have been awarded an Achiever in Achievers League for my good performance and CSR work.
  • I have been awarded the prestigious "Anexas CSR Award" by Anexas for my CSR work.

What one piece of advice would you offer to professionals entering the CSR field?

My advice for the professionals entering the CSR field is to be empathetic. Helping others is not a job; it's a duty and a responsibility both. The iota of work is not a matter of concern but what matters is the bit you do for others.

“We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone,
Together we can achieve the impossible.”
