Anjan
Goswami, Founder, MYF Fitness LLP (Mynd Your Fitness)
I am Anjan
Goswami, Founder of MYF Fitness LLP (Mynd Your Fitness). I am an Engineer and a
postgraduate in Marketing, with over 12 years of experience in IT Sales and
Presales roles in a number of large MNCs. I have been an athlete since
childhood, having participated at various levels in Lawn Tennis, Cricket,
Swimming, Sprinting, Long Distance Running.
Coming from a
family of doctors, I have been passionate about wellness and human behaviour
from an early age. And finally, I could transform this passion into a reality
and profession as I started Mynd Your Fitness in 2014. Eventually I registered
it as an LLP in 2017.

Could you share your professional journey, highlighting the significant milestones in your career?
What
inspired your transition from a 12-year IT career to the fitness and wellness
industry, and what core philosophy guides your approach to fitness, wellness,
and business, particularly in your leadership role at MYF?
Honestly, it
wasn’t anything that inspired. I always had that soft corner for wellness. I
happened to get a break from IT due to my location constraints. MYF was already
running in parallel, but at the community level only. It was during the break
that I decided to formally monetize the work.
I believe in
quality over quantity. For example, eat right to manage weight and not eat more
or less. Or do the exercise with the right form rather than tonnes of
repetitions. The same goes for all aspects of life—sleep, work, needs, money,
relations, and so on. This is the basic philosophy that we employ in our
services too.
Could you elaborate on your current roles and responsibilities at MYF and how you balance your duties as a founder, consultant, and fitness trainer to ensure the continued growth and success of the company?
MYF is my
passion. And I have been fortunate to have had a good bunch of people who
helped me right from the start. I got myself certified in a number of fields
like Fitness, Nutrition, Lifestyle Management, Corporate Wellness, and Mental
Health Management. I felt that in order to run the show, it is important to
understand all the aspects of every service we deliver.
I assisted my
team in conducting regular trainings and consulting. We have split the
responsibilities, probably just right. I have a team available for the larger
corporate events as well.
It is not at
all a solo show, but the cumulative efforts from each of my team members that
have brought us to where we are today and growing good.
Could you share some of the significant awards, certifications, and licenses you have acquired over the course of your career and how they have shaped your journey as a leader?
From a training
perspective, the team has the following certifications:
- Wellness Coaching
- Corporate Wellness
- Fitness Training
- Nutrition
- Physique & Figure Training
- Lifestyle Management
- Weight Management
As an
organisation, we were lucky to receive two awards in the past.
- 10 Best Wellness Startups in India in 2022
- Most Prominent Corporate Wellness Companies in 2023
Besides these,
we have been recognised by different forums globally due to our contributions
in various wellness-related issues from time to time.
Could you explain the role of corporate wellness programs in enhancing workplace productivity and overall employee well-being and what advice would you give to professionals who struggle to balance work and fitness?
Corporate
Wellness is our largest line of business and we have had the opportunity to
work with some of the best organisations over the years. Our highly curated
services for Mental Wellbeing, Stress Management, Team Building, Fun at Work,
and Work-Life Balance are quite effective, as we have seen from our experience
so far.
All our team
members have had experiences in the corporate world at some point in their
career. So we come with the knowledge and the right flavour for the corporates
every time we deliver a service. We try to address the ground-level issues
rather than the final outcomes. For example, we prefer to identify the source
of stress, work on it, and then see how that changes the stress levels. We also
provide simple hacks to deal with different types of stressors and for times
when one feels highly stressed.
Although it is
difficult to be concise here, one advice to professionals would be the need to
understand about prioritisation and procrastination. A lot of times, completing
a task is not so significant to the employee and hence is not quite motivating.
We are what we choose to be. And if we have chosen to be there, we might as
well learn to accept all the tasks wholly. Communications with peers or
managers can also streamline certain issues at times.
