Certainly! My name is Deepak Ravikumar, and I’m the Founder & CEO of Kshemaa Prosthetics. With over 8+ years of experience in the field of prosthetics and orthotics, my focus has always been on enhancing patient mobility and quality of life through innovative care solutions.

 


Could you share some insights about your professional and educational background?


I hold a degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics, coupled with advanced certifications in Microprocessor Knee, I-Digit Fitment, and Unity System Prosthesis. My career has spanned roles in clinical practice, research, and leadership, giving me a well-rounded perspective on the challenges and opportunities in this field. I’ve also worked extensively with global organizations in Nigeria, the United Nations Government, and the Germen Army, gaining exposure to cutting-edge technology and best practices.

 


What inspired your career in prosthetics and orthotics, and what are your areas of expertise?


My inspiration stemmed from a desire to help individuals regain their independence and mobility. Witnessing how technology and care could transform lives ignited a passion for this field. My areas of expertise include lower-limb prosthetics, advanced orthotic systems, and rehabilitation strategies that integrate technology and patient-centered care.

 


As a CEO, how do you balance the demands of clinical practice with the strategic and operational aspects of running Kshemaa Prosthetics?


It’s certainly a balancing act. I prioritize building a strong team of professionals who share our vision for exceptional patient care. This allows me to focus on strategy, innovation, and partnerships while ensuring that our clinical practices remain at the forefront of the industry. Time management, delegation, and maintaining a patient-first mindset are key to achieving this balance.

The future of prosthetic and orthotic care in India is incredibly promising. With advancements in technology, increased accessibility to high-quality care, and growing awareness, we are on the brink of a transformative phase. My advice would be to embrace continuous learning and stay updated on emerging technologies.
