Abhishek Tiwari,
Founder & Managing Director, Abhitech
Could you introduce yourself to the audience?
I’m Abhishek Tiwari, an entrepreneur and investor driven by a passion for leveraging technology to create meaningful impact. Many people know me through my company, Abhitech—a venture I founded that has grown into an innovation-driven organisation with a presence in India, the USA, and Belgium.
My journey as an entrepreneur began in 2003, at a time when startups weren’t as celebrated as they are today. Over the years, I’ve developed a firm belief that technology is the ultimate leveler, capable of driving positive change and creating a better world.
Could you share some background on your educational and professional journey?
I am an alumnus of IIIT Kolkata and IIM Lucknow, with a career rooted in technology and innovation. My entrepreneurial journey began in 2003, and through both successes and failures, I’ve grown as a business leader and investor. I founded Abhitech in 2005, and since then, the company has evolved into a global entity, helping governments and organizations enhance their digital capabilities while driving meaningful impact.
What’s your 5-year vision for Abhitech, and how do you cultivate the company culture to drive success?
Over the next five years, I envision Abhitech expanding its reach, particularly in government collaborations, to drive digital transformation and positively impact large populations. I nurture a company culture built on innovation, resilience, and a willingness to learn from challenges. By emphasizing mentorship, teamwork, and continuous improvement, we ensure that our vision remains both ambitious and achievable.
What are your areas of expertise, and how would you describe your evolving leadership approach?
My expertise lies in technology innovation, entrepreneurship, and building digital solutions for large-scale impact. My leadership approach has evolved to emphasize empathy, mentorship, and adaptability. Having experienced the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, I focus on learning from failures and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within my teams.
How do you manage your time and prioritize your responsibilities?
Balancing business, family, and mentorship requires structured prioritization. I allocate focused time to strategic initiatives at Abhitech while making space for mentoring startups and supporting not-for-profit organizations. Family and travel help me recharge, keeping me motivated and grounded in my responsibilities. I believe in working smartly and staying flexible to accommodate evolving priorities.
What milestones or achievements are you most proud of in your career?
I am particularly proud of Abhitech’s evolution from a 2005 startup to a global enterprise with clients in 15+ countries. Our ability to work with governments and organizations to impact millions of lives is a significant milestone. Additionally, mentoring startups and collaborating with exceptional not-for-profits further highlight my commitment to giving back and creating sustainable value.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting their entrepreneurial journey in today’s tech-driven world?
Embrace the challenges and failures as stepping stones to success. Focus on solving real problems with innovative solutions, and remember that technology is a powerful enabler. Build a strong network, learn continuously, and don’t shy away from seeking mentorship. Most importantly, align your entrepreneurial journey with a vision that creates value for both people and society.
