Bratati Dey, Founder, Soul Coach Training
Institute
I, Bratati Dey, am the founder of Soul Coach Training
Institute.
I am passionate about gaining and imparting knowledge. I am
an avid learner and I learn something new every day, which fills me up with
childlike ecstasy. My greatest feel-good comes when I can touch lives by
enlightening them and guiding them to the right path.
I was born in Kolkata, in a nuclear family. I had a pretty
decent childhood. My Dad was a leather technologist and Mom, a homemaker. I
went to a Convent school, which actually laid the foundation of my grooming.
Added to that was accompanying my father to various high-profile events and my
mom's highly enlightened vision. I graduated with honours in English and then
completed my post-graduation in English literature. I then went on to get a
B.Ed. degree. I was a good academician throughout.
Marriage happened next. I got married to an Army officer.
I'm still actively living the life of an Army wife and loving every bit of it.
I have seen many ups and downs of life, many blacks, and many whites, and
finally settled to believe in the potential of grey. I am blessed with two
adorable, responsible, and mature kids. One girl, one boy. Both working and
trying hard to make a mark in their respective careers. Every day, as one more
strand of hair turns white, I grow younger, more eager to learn new things than
before.
Could you tell us about your venture, Soul
Coach, and the range of services it offers?
Soul Coach was started in 2018. For a long time, I was
mulling over the idea of starting something on my own and finally, in 2018, I
took the plunge.
Soul Coach is a holistic Training Company, where we help a
diverse range of working professionals, starting from youngsters seeking
corporate jobs to mid- and senior managers, looking to up skill themselves. We
also help Corporate Houses, Educational Institutes, and Organisations,
Manufacturing Companies etc., to increase their employee productivity by
providing our cutting-edge soft skills training solutions.
We are a Soft Skills Training Institute where we help
candidates right from Resume Writing, Interview Skills, Confidence Building,
and Communication Skills for young job seekers. We also provide training in
Time Management, Stress Management, Interpersonal Skills, Emotional
Intelligence, Leadership training, and Conflict Resolution (to name a few) for
corporate employees.
Ours is a one stop solution for all Corporate Soft Skills
training needs.
What motivated you to enter training and
mentoring, and how has your leadership style driven your venture's success?
I started my career as an English teacher and had the
opportunity to teach in prestigious institutions, pan India, thanks to the
transferable nature of my husband's job. Every place I went, I had to start
afresh. However, that gave me the opportunity to teach in institutes like SD
College Pathankot, IIEST Shibpur, Howrah, AFMC College of Nursing, Pune and
Symbiosis College of Management Studies, Pune, to name a few.
Finally, I thought it was high time I start something on my
own. By this time, I had identified the gaps that our youth were facing in
landing their dream jobs. I had also identified the lacuna in soft skills which
prevented employees from climbing the corporate ladder.
What are your current roles and
responsibilities in the training and mentoring field?
Currently I'm the Founder and CEO of the Soul Coach
Training Institute. I am the chief trainer as well. I have over 50 freelance
trainers associated with me from all across India. We have trained close to

of the mainstream academic curriculum in India.

What advice would you give to aspiring training
and mentoring professionals, and how do you personally stay updated on the
latest industry trends?
My advice to aspiring training and mentoring professionals would
be: do your best to help and go that extra mile. Your students really need your
guided expertise. Show them what is possible.
As I have already mentioned, I'm an avid learner. I learn things
every day. I soak it all up like a sponge, and I enjoy the process. I'm in
continuous contact with industry experts. I'm part of various training groups,
where there is a continuous exchange of knowledge and ideas. I read up a lot on
articles, newsletters, etc., to keep me abreast of the latest in the training
and counselling industry.
