Alaap Kanchwala, Co-Founder and Director, Swift
Struck
Could you introduce yourself to our audience
and share a bit about your journey?
Hey, I’m Alaap Kanchwala, co-founder and director of Swift
Struck, a company focused on building powerful, intuitive, and cost-effective
software solutions. My journey started with a fascination for automation and
how technology can simplify the way we work. Over time, that curiosity turned
into a mission: to help businesses streamline their workflows without the
complexity or cost of traditional development.
I’ve always had a hands-on approach to exploring no-code
platforms, leveraging Google Apps Script, and finding innovative ways to make
software more accessible. What started as a passion for problem-solving
eventually became Swift Struck, where we help businesses build the right tools
tailored to their needs without unnecessary overhead.
Can you tell us about your venture, the key
services it offers, and what sparked the inspiration behind launching this
initiative?
Swift Struck is all about making software development
faster, smarter, and more efficient. We specialize in building custom business
applications, integrating automation, and leveraging no-code and low-code
platforms like Glide Apps and Google Apps Script to create powerful, scalable
solutions. Whether it's database management, process automation, or API-driven
integrations, we provide businesses with the tools they need without the
traditional software development bottlenecks.
The inspiration came from working closely with businesses
that struggled with rigid, expensive, and overly complex software. Many were
stuck using spreadsheets, disconnected tools, or outdated systems, simply
because building something custom was either too costly or too time-consuming.
I knew there had to be a better way, and that’s how Swift Struck was born to
bring custom software to businesses at a fraction of the cost and time.
Can you tell us more about your educational and
professional journey, and how have they influenced your core areas of expertise
in technology and business at Swift Struck?
My background has always been rooted in tech and business
problem-solving. I didn’t take the traditional route of an IT professional, but
I immersed myself in learning automation, AI, and software development not just
from an engineering perspective, but from a practical, business-oriented
mindset.
What truly shaped my expertise was working hands-on with
real businesses. Seeing firsthand how companies struggle with workflow
inefficiencies, manual processes, and lack of tech adaptability made me focus
on building software that truly solves problems, not just software for the sake
of it. That's why at Swift Struck, every solution we build is designed for
real-world usability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
What are your current roles and
responsibilities, and how do you balance leadership, innovation, and business
growth?
As a co-founder, my role is a blend of strategy,
development, and execution. I focus on:
·
Driving product innovation, making sure we are
using the best technologies to solve problems effectively.
·
Business growth identifying new opportunities,
refining our service offerings, and ensuring we provide real value to clients.
·
Team leadership mentoring and guiding our small
but highly efficient team to keep delivering high-quality solutions.
Balancing all of this comes down to two things: automation
and prioritization. If something can be automated, it should be. If a process
can be simplified, we do it. That's the mindset that allows us to keep growing
without unnecessary complexity.
What key skills and leadership qualities have
driven your success in the tech industry, and how has entrepreneurship shaped
your leadership approach?
One of the biggest skills that has shaped my journey is
problem-solving through technology, being able to take a business challenge and
find a structured, scalable, and automated solution.
Beyond that, adaptability has been crucial. Tech evolves
fast, and so does the business landscape. What worked a year ago might not be
the best solution today, so constantly learning, iterating, and improving is
key.
As an entrepreneur, my leadership approach is centered on
efficiency and clarity. I believe in empowering my team to make decisions,
ensuring that every project we take on is aligned with our strengths, and
making sure we never build something for the sake of it, we build because it
makes a difference.
What are some of the biggest milestones or
achievements in your journey that you are most proud of, and how have they
shaped the company’s growth?
·
Building MuseLink, a complete ERP solution for
the art industry, helping galleries and artists manage inventory, sales, and
private viewing rooms effortlessly.
·
Scaling our automation capabilities, helping
businesses reduce operational costs by over 50% through strategic API
integrations and process automation.
·
Developing a full-stack ERP, Lexis18, aimed at
competing with big players like SAP and Oracle, proving that even a lean,
focused team can create high-impact solutions.
Each milestone reinforced our belief that custom software
should be fast, flexible, and accessible to businesses of all sizes.
What key lessons or advice would you share with
young entrepreneurs looking to build their own tech startup?
· Solve a real problem. Don’t just build tech for
the sake of it. Find a pain point and fix it efficiently.
· Keep things simple. Over-complicating things
will slow you down. The best solutions are often the simplest.
· Leverage no-code and automation. You don’t need
a 10-person engineering team to build powerful software. There are smarter ways
to do it.
· Focus on execution, not just ideas. Great ideas
are meaningless without action. Start building, refining, and improving as you
go.
· Iterate fast. Your first version won’t be
perfect. Launch, learn, and improve.
· Stay lean. Keep overheads low, automate what
you can, and focus on delivering value before scaling unnecessarily.
Most importantly, enjoy the process. Entrepreneurship is
about solving challenges in creative ways; if you are not excited about that,
you are in the wrong game.
